Kenton’s history

Kenton a hundred+ years here in North Portland. Once a ‘company town’ for Swift Meats, Kenton has become a multicultural/multiethnic community. All ages, lifestyles, languages, and races call this neighborhood home. Among these are many unchurched, previous churched, and active followers of Christ’s call.

Kenton’s worship

open for worship in person and via streaming video

With a seating capacity of 225, there is plenty of room to ‘social distance’ during worship. Oregon has a ‘mask requirement’ for indoors but we ask that only those who are NOT fully vaccinated wear them except for eating or drinking.

Our worship is not as it was before COVID-19. We do not have our ‘Time with the Children’ or ‘Passing of the Peace’. If you are not comfortable attending worship in person our streaming worship is available.

Kenton’s association

We are a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. We take God’s Word seriously and apply it to the current issues in our personal lives and culture.

Kenton’s mission

Our neighborhood, lifestyle, and social realities have changed radically since 1911. Yet Kenton holds to the truth of the Gospel and seeks to faithfully share Christ with our neighbors and friends. We continue to speak the truth of God's love to those around us in ways that they may understand.
